Justin Thring MBAus Director Justin Thring has a background in entrepreneurship, investment research, and business strategy, with a particular interest in long-term value creation and the role of active ownership in helping businesses grow. His work at Orrchid Investments focuses on understanding emerging firms, technologies, and business models, and how disciplined strategic and financial analysis can support better investment and commercial decision-making. He is particularly interested in how innovation can be industrialised, how high-potential businesses are assessed and scaled, and how capital allocation and operational execution can unlock durable commercial advantage. Prior to developing his investment and strategy focus, Justin spent more than a decade building and operating a coffee roasting business. In that role, he developed practical experience across operations, product, customer relationships, commercial decision-making, and business resilience. This background has shaped his understanding of the practical realities of running a business, allocating resources, and translating strategy into execution. Justin is committed to contributing to MBA Australasia by strengthening connections across the MBA community, particularly between students, alumni, business owners, operators, investors, and industry leaders. He is interested in supporting MBAus as a national platform for professional growth, peer connection, and meaningful opportunity creation. Justin received a Master of Business Administration from the University of Queensland Business School. |
