Chantal Mousad

Chantal Mousad is an accomplished senior executive, board director, and advocate for inclusive leadership, with more than 20 years of international experience spanning financial services, risk management, governance, compliance, cybersecurity, financial crime, and organisational transformation across Australia and the Middle East.
She currently serves as Chair of MBAus, where she is committed to strengthening governance and advancing the organisation’s strategic growth and impact. Chantal is also a Senior Manager at Westpac Group. Prior to Australia, Chantal held senior leadership positions with Qatar National Bank and served as Chief Risk Officer of RT Bank in Iraq, where she established the organisation’s first enterprise risk management framework across a network of financial institutions.
Beyond her executive career, Chantal serves on a number of boards and advisory bodies, including CareerSeekers, and is Regional Director and Head of Oceania for the Global Resource Advisory Board (GRAB). She is a passionate advocate for economic participation, diversity, equity and inclusion, refugee employment, and women's leadership. A recipient of the UN Women Australia MBA Scholarship and the 2024 Super Naari Award for Women, Peace and Security, Chantal is recognised for her ability to bridge commercial excellence with social impact. Her leadership journey from arriving in Australia as a refugee to becoming a respected executive and board leader reflects her commitment to resilience, ethical leadership, and creating opportunities for others.
Chantal holds a Bachelor of Economics and Commerce and is completing her MBA at the University of Sydney Business School.

Wasim Malik

Wasim Malik is a Board Director and risk executive with more than 28 years of global leadership across enterprise risk management, operational and business resilience, cyber resilience, governance, risk and compliance (GRC), and ESG. Based in Sydney, he advises boards and executive teams on turning complex regulatory and risk landscapes into clear strategy and measurable resilience.
He is Founder and CEO of Risk Professionals, a global consultancy, where he leads advisory work in business and supply-chain resilience, AI governance (ISO/IEC 42001), business continuity (ISO 22301), information security (ISO/IEC 27001), and ESG and sustainability reporting aligned with GRI Standards and ISO 26000. He previously served on the Global Board of the Business Continuity Institute (BCI) and works as a Senior AI and Cyber Security Consultant in the public sector.
Earlier in his career, Wasim was Principal Consultant in GRC at CyberCX and Global Head of GRC at Bravura Solutions, where he led the company to global ISO 22301 certification. As Head of Business Continuity and Governance at Bank of Bahrain & Kuwait, he guided the bank to become the first in Bahrain certified to the standard. A Certified Sustainable (ESG) Practitioner, he integrates sustainability and governance into enterprise resilience.
A Fellow of the BCI and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD), he was inducted into the BCI Hall of Fame in 2018 and holds an MBA in Information Systems from Oklahoma City University.

Claire Omdedei

Claire Omodei is a governance and strategy professional with extensive experience in the mining sector, where she has led studies, approvals, operational readiness, and enterprise integration across complex portfolios. She is recognised for her structured judgement, disciplined approach to decision quality, and ability to translate complex strategic issues into clear, actionable pathways for senior leaders and boards.
Claire has held board and committee roles across education, community, and sport, including serving a four‑year term as President of the Graduate Management Association of UWA. She is currently a Director of MBA Australasia and brings a strong commitment to values‑based leadership, capability development, and strengthening governance maturity across diverse organisations and regions.
She holds an MBA from the University of Western Australia and qualifications in change management, supported by international experience across Asia and emerging markets.

Justin Thring
MBAus Director

Justin Thring has a background in entrepreneurship, investment research, and business strategy, with a particular interest in long-term value creation and the role of active ownership in helping businesses grow. His work at Orrchid Investments focuses on understanding emerging firms, technologies, and business models, and how disciplined strategic and financial analysis can support better investment and commercial decision-making. He is particularly interested in how innovation can be industrialised, how high-potential businesses are assessed and scaled, and how capital allocation and operational execution can unlock durable commercial advantage.
Prior to developing his investment and strategy focus, Justin spent more than a decade building and operating a coffee roasting business. In that role, he developed practical experience across operations, product, customer relationships, commercial decision-making, and business resilience. This background has shaped his understanding of the practical realities of running a business, allocating resources, and translating strategy into execution.
Justin is committed to contributing to MBA Australasia by strengthening connections across the MBA community, particularly between students, alumni, business owners, operators, investors, and industry leaders. He is interested in supporting MBAus as a national platform for professional growth, peer connection, and meaningful opportunity creation.
Justin received a Master of Business Administration from the University of Queensland Business School.

Chetna Lumb Bedi

Chetna Bedi is a technology and business transformation executive with more than 20 years of leadership experience across financial services and management consulting. Her career spans enterprise transformation, digital and AI strategy, commercial growth, operating model design and M&A integration, with senior roles across NRI Group, Oracle, Marsh, Mercer, EY and Accenture.
Chetna has led complex transformation portfolios, managed large regional and global teams, and advised senior executives on technology-enabled growth, regulatory change and enterprise modernisation. She has a particular interest in the practical application of AI, data and digital technologies to improve decision-making, customer outcomes and organisational performance.
As a Director of MBA Australasia, Chetna contributes to strategy, governance, digital transformation and member value, with a focus on strengthening MBAus as a national platform connecting MBA-qualified professionals, business schools and industry. She brings a combination of commercial discipline, technology leadership and governance experience to the Board.
Chetna holds an MBA from Melbourne Business School and a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Systems from RMIT University. She is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and has completed the MIT Sloan Executive Program in AI and its implications for business strategy.

I’m Robert Hoffmann, a Director in BDO’s Project & Infrastructure Advisory team, driven by a passion for shaping communities through well-founded investment decisions. For me, infrastructure isn’t just about projects, it’s about creating lasting impact by ensuring every decision is backed by a robust, evidence-based business case.
With a foundation in civil engineering and economics, I specialise in business case strategy, authoring, and coordination, bridging the gap between technical excellence and financial sustainability. My approach ensures that the best technical solutions align with cost efficiency and deliver real value to stakeholders.
Over the course of my career, I’ve worked across the full project lifecycle, from planning and economic analysis to project management, detailed design, and construction oversight. My experience spans diverse sectors including Live Entertainment, Precincts, Education, Transport, Energy & Natural Resources, Water, Health, and Defence, partnering with local, state, and federal governments as well as private clients.
Beyond my professional role, I contribute to industry leadership as a Board Member of the Infrastructure Association of Queensland (IAQ) and support community initiatives through Baby Give Back. These roles reflect my commitment to both advancing infrastructure outcomes and giving back to society.

Thinesh Theivendran

Thinesh Theivendran, CA ANZ, is a finance professional with over 15 years of experience across the public and private sectors, specialising in financial management, budgeting, forecasting, governance, procurement, and strategic reporting. He currently serves as Senior Finance Coordinator with the Department of Mines, Petroleum and Exploration, Western Australia, where he oversees financial planning, management reporting, Mining Rehabilitation Fund (MRF) reporting, procurement, and financial governance activities that support executive decision-making and program delivery.
Prior to joining the Western Australian public sector, Thinesh held finance and advisory roles across various industries, including with KPMG Sri Lanka, where he contributed to forensic and advisory engagements involving financial investigations, risk assessment, compliance reviews, and business analysis. He brings strong expertise in financial oversight, risk management, governance, stakeholder engagement, and strategic planning.
As a Board Director, Thinesh provides a practical blend of financial leadership, commercial insight, and governance experience, supporting organisations in achieving sound decision-making, accountability, and sustainable growth.
